2016 Vacation Bible School

This year’s VBS program will be on July 11-15, from 6-8pm each evening, and includes classes for pre-K to 8th grade. In addition to gospel-centered, biblical teaching, each night will include singing, games, crafts, and snacks.

2016 VBS Curriculum

Every day, our kids are challenged to stand for God in their schools, among their friends, in our culture . . . no matter what. And they’re bombarded with the lie that God’s Word isn’t true when it talks about earthly things (rocks, fossils), so it can’t be trusted to tell the truth about spiritual things.

OC_Logo_SimpleNoah experienced the same challenges during the time of the great Flood thousands of years ago. Yet, by God’s grace, he was able to Stand for God, Obey God, Trust God,Thank God, and Fear God . . . no matter what. The biggest watery catastrophe the world has ever known happened during his lifetime. But through it all, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

At this monumental Vacation Bible School program, your kids will dive deep into the account of Noah and the Flood from the book of Genesis! They’ll learn to apply the spiritual lessons from Noah’s life to their own. And, along the way, they’ll uncover earthly lessons from the Flood: how all the animals fit on the Ark, how the Flood covered the whole Earth, and how we can still see the effects of this Flood today. They’ll also learn that the flood legends from around the world are based on the true account in Genesis!

2015 Vacation Bible School

Grace Brethren Chapel is excited to announce its 2015 Vacation Bible School, Camp Kilimanjaro: An Epic Expedition Through Proverbs, from the Answers in Genesis ministry.

This year’s VBS will run from July 6 – July 10, from 6-8pm, and will include classes for preschool to high school students. In addition to gospel-centered, biblical teaching, each night will include singing, games, crafts, and snacks.

Here’s a short description of this year’s curriculum from the AiG website:

Jambo! Welcome to Camp Kilimanjaro, where you’ll have an epic expedition through the book of Proverbs!

Every day, our kids are faced with choices—will they choose wisely or foolishly? As they safari up Mount Kilimanjaro, your trekkers learn that true wisdom comes only from the one true all-wise God, who wants us to be wise! And He’s filled the book of Proverbs with wise sayings for us! As they study Proverbs, your hikers will learn to have

  • ears that hear and do the Word of God;
  • hearts that trust in the Lord;
  • tongues that are tame;
  • hands that get to work;
  • feet that walk with the wise!

Set your compasses for Africa and prepare for an epic expedition at Camp Kilimanjaro VBS!

Vacation Bible School 2014

Grace Brethren Chapel is excited to announce our 2014 Vacation Bible School! This year’s VBS comes from the Answers in Genesis ministry, which is the organization that founded and operates the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. The curriculum is entitled International Spy Academy: Agents for the One True God. At the GBC International Spy Academy, our mission is to instill in your children an understanding of the one true God of the Bible they can carry with them for the rest of their lives and share with those around them. They’ll uncover the clues that lead to the one true God who is the Creator of all and who calls people from every tribe and nation to have fellowship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

VBS will run from June 30 – July 3, from 6-8pm, and will include classes for preschool to high school students. In addition to gospel-centered, biblical teaching, each night will include singing, games, crafts, and snacks.

JÕB: A Full-Length Film of Poetry and Art

Grace Brethren Chapel will be hosting a special showing of JÕB: A Full-Length Film of Poetry and Art on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. Below is a short description of the film:

Job lost everything: his wealth, his health, and his ten children. All swept away in one satanic storm. Reduced to a heap of flesh, ashes, and tears—rebuked by friends and jeered by strangers—righteous Job wrestled over the purpose and presence of God in the midst of unbearable pain.
Originally published by Desiring God in 2008 as a 128-page hardcover book, JŌB retold the biblical story through the beautiful, compassionate poetry of John Piper and the stunning illustrations of Chris Koelle.

Out of print shortly after its release, the story of JŌB is now being reintroduced through a new adaptation of moving artwork, music, and poetry: JŌB is an independently produced full-length (45 min.) motion graphics animated movie.

Through John Piper’s own gripping narration of the poem, music by J. Aaron Greene, original illustrations by Chris Koelle, animation by Danny McNight, and line production by Will Parker, we are invited to revel in God’s sovereign and surprisingly joyful purposes in allowing exquisite suffering in the lives of his saints. This story of human suffering and the sovereignty of God is artfully brought to new life as a deeply moving resource especially for those experiencing great suffering and loss.
